What Is a Discovery Flight?
The Best Way to Start Your Pilot Journey
A discovery flight is an introductory flying lesson — typically 45 to 60 minutes — where you'll sit in the left seat and actually fly the airplane under the guidance of one of our Certified Flight Instructors.
It counts toward your pilot training hours and is the perfect way to see if flying is right for you. Many of our pilots took their discovery flight right here at KAUW and never looked back.

Take the controls yourself and experience what it feels like to fly
Fly to Merrill and see what it's like to fly to another airport.
Debrief with your instructor and ask all your questions
Leave with a logbook entry and a sense of what's possible
